Every single day some people following others. Even though it sounds scary - it is true, however, it is not that scary. In fact, millions of people are following each other's blogs, Instagram/Facebook/Twitter pages, or YouTube channels. Actually, blogs are a great way to follow trends, things you interested in such as travel, books, food or business. Usually, it is fun or interesting to read some blogs, to learn more about the topic you like, but blogs are more than that! It can be a safe environment to share information that is hard or dangerous to share in real life such as bullying in high school or distribution of drugs. While reading the article Brooklyn Blog Helps Leads to Drug Raid I understood the importance of blogging. It is good to realize how powerful blogs can be and they can actually make a difference.
The first thing that gets on average people's minds when they hear the world Wiki is Wikipedia! It is really impressive! Even though it is not the most reliable source where you can get your information from, but it is very accessible with a wide collection of topics virtual encyclopedia. Noam Cohen in the article Wikipedia to Limit Changes to Articles on People stated that it is not difficult to insert false information into a Wikipedia entry, at least for a short time. I guess, we all were warned at least once in our lifetime not to depend on the information from Wikipedia, but we still once in a while briefly reading something from there to find the quick answer to some urgent questions.
Maybe Wikipedia is the most popular Wiki, but let's think about Wiki in general. It is an amazing and super useful tool that can be applied in many fields to make our life easier. I really like the short description of it I found in the article How to Use Wikis for Business: Wikis are designed to facilitate the exchange of information within and between teams. It is a really powerful way to work on the team project without much administrative effort or need for distribution.
I think that Wiki can be used in so many awesome ways. It can be really useful not only in the business world or as a tool for travelers but also for a quest type of games or even a treasure hunt. I like that Wiki can be used for something very professional or super fun.
